Our Personal Development Offer

Children will leave Tyneview Primary School with the ability to form positive relationships where children will be able to listen to others.  In the wider world pupils will justify respectful opinions and act appropriately in the community. Pupils will take responsibility for their health and wellbeing and will know how to support themselves in their future.

As a school we commit to support pupils to learn how to be well-rounded citizens through our culture, an enriched curriculum, high quality visitors, inspiring visits and using excellent providers from our local community. We will both be proactive and reactive and effective in building a community.

We know our PD curriculum gives the children the knowledge and understanding they need to make informed choices and to be a positive influence in the communities that they belong to. We use data, track pupil voice and explore community themes to help derive a proactive and reactive live curriculum to help our children navigate their
surroundings.

Our young people are growing up in an increasingly complex world with challenging community issues and living their lives seamlessly on and offline. This presents many positive and exciting opportunities, but also includes challenges and risks. In this environment, children and their families need to know how to be safe and healthy, and how to manage their academic, personal and social lives in a positive way.

Our PSHE curriculum aims to develop skills and attributes such as resilience, self- esteem, risk-management, team-working and critical thinking in the context of three core themes: relationships, physical health & mental wellbeing and living in the wider world (including economic wellbeing and careers education).
