Spiritual, moral, social and cultural education of our pupils is key to Tyneview. We are committed to exposing our community to spiritual understanding through our RE and PSHE themes and events where the community learn alongside each other. This can be seen in visits to our local church, synagogue and mosque, supporting the local community centre Kids Kabin and our international links. We offer our children meaningful opportunities to act with kindness and make a positive impact in their community. This includes activities like litter picking, raising money to support the homeless, singing at care homes for the elderly, and donating to a social supermarket. We also encourage
understanding and respect for different cultures, helping children adapt to and appreciate diverse perspectives, and we have supported this with our school trips, particularly with our overseas trips to Istanbul and Rome.
Tyneview is proud to hold the Silver International Schools Award, celebrating our dedication to fostering a global outlook and enriching our pupils’ understanding of the wider world. This recognition highlights our commitment to embedding international learning into our curriculum, promoting cultural awareness, and building connections
with schools and communities around the globe. Through activities like international projects, cultural exchanges, and global-themed lessons, we empower our pupils to become thoughtful, informed citizens of the world. This award reflects our passion for preparing children to thrive in an interconnected and diverse global community.
Tyneview is proud to be a recognised School of Sanctuary, a special award that reflects our commitment to creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for everyone. This means we celebrate diversity, respect all cultures, and actively support children and families seeking sanctuary. As a School of Sanctuary, we strive to educate our pupils about compassion, understanding, and the importance of community, ensuring that all feel valued and supported. Through targeted actions, such as inclusive practices, cultural celebrations, and embedding empathy across our curriculum, we work to uphold our values and be a place where everyone feels they belong.
